Shirts for Dedicated Photographers the Crew Neck T-Shirt by Strong Athletic
We created this t-shirt because it was requested of us by the photographer community in roller derby, specifically David Dyte. There are many roller derby t-shirts that you can buy, but we wanted a shirt that could be worn by a person who is part of the derby community or they are part of the photographer community, or both. We thought this shirt was an excellent way to celebrate the skill and dedication it takes to be a photographer.
This shirt says "Strong Dedicated Photographer" in bold white ink with the Strong Athletic logo on the front. The Strong Athletic logo is printed on the back. The idea for what should be on the shirt was a collaboration, Dyte had a design idea that was pretty funny and light hearted but after talking about it to his group of friends Tina Letter recommended we use the word Dedicated on the shirt and that stuck.
Founder of Strong Athletic, Nadia Kean, aka Smarty Pants, used to play roller derby for the WFTDA. Nadia believes that photographers are an essential part of our sport- the capture the most important moments during the game. If you are a sports photographer, thank you! Many roller derby league photographers don't get paid for the work that they do- instead they volunteer their time to help to build league archives and take the photos that will help to tell the league's history. We think this is why this shirt is such a popular gift idea for derby leagues to give to their photographers- they want a way to thank them for their time, energy and dedication.
The design of this shirt is based on the original "Strong Athletic Woman" design created by Cristen Perks. This shirt is screen printed by hand in Austin, Texas by Amanda at the Artists Screen Printing Coop. The Strong Athletic logo was created by Angel Ortega for Strong Athletic.
