The Origin Story of the Original Strong Nasty Woman T-Shirt by Strong Athletic

On October 19, 2016 millions of people gasped as the US Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump called US Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, “such a nasty woman,” during the 3^rd Presidential Debate.

Before that night the word nasty had many definitions, including digesting, dreadful, foul, and repugnant; but starting at that very moment that Trump used that word as an insult, millions of women shook their heads “no” and decided to take that word back. 

I am one of those nasty women and so is my good friend Aja Gair. Aja called me the day after the debate between Clinton and Trump when he called her a nasty woman and asked if we could make a modified version of the original Strong Athletic Woman shirt, but this one would say Strong Nasty Woman. I said, "hell yes!" and the t-shirt became a reality. 

This shirt was made for all of the humans on this earth who will not tolerate chauvinism, misogyny, violence or hatred toward women. Wear this shirt for whatever reason you prefer, but know that we created it to give you a voice to the anger and frustration that women experience everyday while we demand for equal citizenship in our own country. We will not stand down. We are Strong Nasty Women! 

The Nasty Woman T-shirt and Tank was created, designed and printed by hand by Strong Nasty Women in Austin, Texas. 10% of all sales were donated to Planned Parenthood, an organization based in the US that makes healthcare affordable and accessible for millions of people.
