LGBTQIA2S+ Apparel: About the Strong Athletic Queer Black Snapback Hat with White Letters

The "Strong Athletic Queer" Snapback Hat was created for the LGBTQIA2S+ Community that Strong Athletic is a proud member of. This hat is a solid black Yupoong Snapback with the words strong athletic queer embroidered on it in thick, 2-D letters in white thread. This is a black matte hat, meaning that the fabric isn't shiny. The Strong Athletic logo is on the back of the hat. The hat is adjustable and comes in two different sizes. People love this hat for may reasons. The words embroidered onto this hat are bold and they mean something.

Want to know how we came up with the sales price? At Strong Athletic we do everything that we can do to make sure that we're using high quality products and material on all of the items that we sale. Flexfit, the company that makes this Yupoong hat is a WARP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) Certified company, which means that the facilities where this hat was made had to pass the 12 guiding principles that they set as standard in the industry. 

Once we get the hats from our supplier, they are sent to Vistägo Print in Lago Vista, Texas (just west of Austin) to be embroidered at the small, locally owned company that was established in 1994. The process includes incorporating a thick piece of foam, which is attached to the front of the hat and used as the base for the thick 2-D letters. The embroidery goes over the foam, which is how we get the word "Strong Athletic Queer" to pop off the front of the hat.

Before it can be embroidered we first have to create the artwork, which includes approving the design, choosing the thread color and agreeing on where our logo will be placed. 

The Strong Athletic logo is printed on film, and then cut into circles and stamped onto fabric and then sewn onto the back of the hats. Our logo was created in 2015 by Angel Ortega of Garzig Design. Angel is our favorite illustrator and artist. Her company Garzig Design is based in Austin, Texas. 

Once we get the hats from Vistägo Print, they go to one of our locations in Austin, Bellingham or Atlanta where they are kept until we receive an order or we go to an event. If you place an order for the hat online, one of the members of the Strong Athletic Team packages that hat for you. They usually write you a personalized note and send you something extra, like stickers. Shipping is included in the price of the hat, so there are no add on costs during the checkout process. That being said, the cost of shipping comes out of the $39.69 price of the hat.

These hats are exceptional quality and to date (Dec 2020) we've never received feedback about the embroidery unraveling or the stitching that makes up the Yupoong hat coming out. As long as you take care of this hat, it'll last. If the hat gets sweat stains or other dirt on it, you can follow the following steps to clean your snapback. 

What you'll need: Warm water, mild laundry detergent or soap, a towel, and a toothbrush. To spot clean your snapback: Combine 1/4 cup of warm water with 1/4 tablespoon mild soap.
